Q. What makes you different from other photographers?

A. First, we ONLY photograph weddings .  I don't have the overhead or cost of a studio location, I'm not preoccupied with portrait appointments all week.  My 36 years of training and experience in wedding and portrait photography provides you the confidence you want for your special day.  We prefer to blend in and are never bossy or overbearing to your family and guests as we photograph your wedding ceremony and reception.

Secondly, We hire by the event not by the hour.  I just don't believe in imposing a time restriction for your special day.  We are there all day with no time or photo limits, from getting ready to when you leave the reception.  We want to capture the true moments of the day as they unfold, rather than create them in a "cookie cutter" fashion.

Q. What are your qualifications?

A. I am a retired military photographer, photojournalist and TV production specialist.  I worked in the Pentagon and White House as a news photographer.  I taught photography and photojournalism for seven years. I have studied under some of the great wedding and portrait photographers. such as Monte Zucker, Bill Stockwell, Rocky Gunn, Gary Fong, and Joe Craig. I have worked for several studios and freelanced as a wedding and portrait photographer for many years.  My wife, Cherie attends every wedding with me and serves as an invaluable assistant and second photographer.

Q. What is your photographic style?

A. With over 30 years experience as a photographer and photojournalist, I offer a blend of photojournalism with traditional portraiture, all at affordable pricing.  I like to describe my style as documentary, as we try to capture in photos the excitement, emotions and details of your wedding day. Using two cameras, my wife and I prefer to capture the day's events as they unfold, with candid moments and pictorial vignettes.  Our style is unobtrusive and fun!  We invite your photo requests, and are happy to photograph the bridal party and family group poses throughout the day.  We never limit you on how many groupings or formal photos you'd like to have done.  After all, it is YOUR day!

Q: Most other photographers have time limits on their packages, (4 hours or 6 hours) and charge accordingly.  Why don't you have time limits?

A.  Great question!  I hate time limits and hate imposing them on my clients.  All time limits do is rush you thru your reception and force you to do things on the photographer's schedule, not your own.  Many photographers think that once the cake is cut there is nothing else to photograph at the reception.  They will hurrily force you to do the traditional events early so they can leave.  My approach is completely different.  I believe in covering your entire wedding event, from start to finish, not just what someone thinks is important to them.   We get some exciting and fun photos later in the evening once the party has started and the dance floor is alive!   We want to document and tell your entire wedding story!  We usually start about 2 hours before the ceremony and stay until the bride and groom leave the reception.

Q. How many photographs do you take?

A. We impose no limit on photos taken, we (my wife and I) are there to record your event and emotions of the day. We have no time limits and no mileage charges within our coverage area. We use two cameras for more thorough coverage at the ceremony.  We typically produce over 500 to 700 images!

Q. Can I keep the negatives?

A. Because we are using digital cameras, there are no negatives.  An Image DVD of all the photos from your wedding is provided as part of all our collections.  These are high resolution images.  We provide a written letter giving you the right to reproduce your photos for personal use.

Q. How many weddings have you photographed?

A. Good question!   I think I stopped counting many years ago after several hundred!  I've been photographing weddings professionally since 1972.  Even with that many weddings, we still maintain a fresh and comtemporary style, mixed with traditional portraiture.

Q. Do you require a deposit or retainer?

A. YES, All wedding photographers require a reservation fee or retainer to reserve the date of your wedding. Weddings are typically booked months or years in advance. Our reservation fee is applied to your collection.  You don't have to select your options at that time, the reservation fee simply reserves the day for you on our calendar.

Q. Do you use 35mm, digital or film cameras?

A.  We use the latest in professional NIKON digital cameras and dedicated flash units, which record all images in a super high quality file format. This will give you sharp images even at very large print sizes.  We use two cameras to give you the best coverage throughout the event. We always have backup equipment handy if needed.

Q. What packages do you offer?   What are your rates?

A. We just redesigned our collections  to offer you the best pricing and services.  We provide complete  Wedding Photography Coverage wedding photography coverage with no time limits, no film limits and no mileage charges.. Additionally, we offer many options you may wish to add to customize your photography albums and other products.

Q.  Do you offer on-line viewing and ordering of my wedding photographs?

A.  YES.   We  provide our on-line photo gallery for viewing and ordering your wedding images.  Usually posted within 48 hours after the wedding, you, your family and friends can now view all the photos taken and order  your favorites on-line from the comfort of their home.  The finished photos are mailed directly to you in about two weeks after your place an order.  Now you don't have to worry about carrying proofs around to show all the relatives, and not have to worry about collecting money and taking all their orders.  This is a great service and no additional cost to you.  It's included in all my packages.

Q. How far are you willing to travel?

A. We cover weddings in Southwest and Central Florida.  There are never any mileage or time limit charges within our coverage area. We do consider traveling outside our area on a case by case request.  We are also available for destination weddings and would be happy to provide a quote.

Q. How quickly will I receive my prints?

A. On-line viewing of all your wedding photos will also be posted about 48 hours after the event.  Proof  Magazines or Previews if ordered, are usually ready within 14 days after your wedding.   Coffee Table or Designer Albums are normally completed within two to three weeks upon placement of your order.

Q. Do you provide black and white photography?

A. Yes, all my photographs are available in color, black and white or even sepia toned at no extra charge.  You can preview any photo in your photo gallery in either color, black & white or sepia tone.

Q.  There are certain "must have" poses I want.  Can I provide you a list to work from?

A.  We approach your wedding using our documentary "photojournalism" style.  We prefer to record and capture the special moments and emotions as they present themselves.  Providing the photographer a long list of several photos only distracts him from devoting his attention to recording your day as it unfolds.  However, we do welcome your requests for any groupings or poses you desire.  It's OK to make a list of poses or groupings you want, but we also suggest giving that list to a family member or friend that can assist the photographer in gathering the people for the photographs.

Q. Do you have a customer satisfaction or refund policy?

A. YES, it is printed on the back of our Wedding Photography Agreement.   We want you to look at our samples to be sure our style is what you are looking for.
